Today I did not do much at all. I went to bed at about 3am and woke up and my back was killing me. I don't know what caused this! About a week ago I used a warranty for my old bed and got a replacement. I'm thinking that I fell asleep in an awkward position or that my boxspring is broken. Another reason my back hurt is that it could be that I used a new pillow and that caused problems.
I moved my bed to another area of room and fell back asleep. Somehow I ended up sleeping until noon! I checked my email and drove to the post office for a package and bought a new Memory Foam pillow at Bed Bath and beyond.
Went back home and at 4am my mom called and invited me to go out for pizza. After this we shopped at Target for a bit and I went home. Luckily at Target I only ended up spending about $8. I've made a goal this year to try to save up $30,000. It may be difficult, but I think I can do it! No more buying junk I do not really need. I might treat myself to a small $200-$300 item every 3 months or so. These days there's nothing I really want anyway. I do need a new dining room table for my house though and they're not cheap.
Right now i've decided to skip doing any work for the day and just sit around and watch TV. I should be working. All day I think I only did about 1 hour of work.
As i'm typing this i'm watching the Lakers vs Warriors. I plan on installing Ubuntu Linux on my laptop in a few minutes. It's too bad I can't get DVD playback working all that well under Linux. The playback just isn't that smooth.
I plan on using it just for browing the web and that's about it. I might also see if I can encrypt my entire drive with Truecrypt in case my laptop is ever stolen. It'll probably slow down my drive by a lot, but I don't care. As long as I get at least 40mb/sec i'll be ok. The drive in the computer isn't even a 7200rpm drive. It's my Macbook's old drive. I ended up upgrading my new Macbooks drive to a 500gb WD drive. Kind of pointless since a 7200rpm drive would have been better.
I'd like to upgrade to a Apple desktop computer, but I don't like the Mac Mini and it's limited upgrade capabilities. I also hate the idea of a $1000 computer built into an LCD display.
